Amazon's new Fire HD 10 tablet $150

Amazon bump up features and added excellent build quality for their new Fire HD 10 tablet and it will just cost you $150.  It's actually $100 cheaper than their previous model. The new Fire HD 10 tablet has hands-free Alexa voice controls that turns your tablet into a portable and supercharged Echo Show.

The tablet is equipped with 10.1-inch screen with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution. It is powered by a 1.8GHz quad-core processor that's 30 percent faster than the previous model, 2GB of RAM, and either 32GB or 64GB of storage.

They also added their "Alexa Hands-free" mode into the tablet. Amazon added Alexa to its tablets last year, but it's now the real Alexa voice controls you know and love from the Echo. Once you've turned the setting on, you can start talking to Alexa on your tablet as if it were an Echo.

The front-facing HD camera and 5MP rear-facing cameras remain unchanged but are adequate for video calls and some light video recording. Battery life has increased they claimed it can last 10 hours of mixed usage, there's 2GB of memory, and the base level of storage has been increased to 32GB from 16GB. There's even a microSD card slot for memory expansion.

The new Fire HD 10 is available in three colors (black, Marine Blue, and Punch Red) and launches on October 11, 2017 on their website here.

Huawei MateBook 2-in-1

Huawei MateBook 2-in-1 is a premium tablet that were showcased at CES 2016 by the Chinese smartphone manufacturer. It boast a 12-inch 2160 x 1440 IPS LCD display with 10-point multitouch support screen, giving the user a crisp and sharp videos, images, and texts. It has a 10mm ultra-thin bezel with a 84% body to screen ratio for an optimum viewing experience. It is only 0.27 inches thick and weighs 1.4 pounds.

It is powered by a Intel Core M-series processor, you get to choose from M3, M5, or M7 processors, 4 or 8 gigabytes of RAM, and SSD storage options from 128 gigabytes to 512 gigabytes.

The cheapest uses an Intel Core m3 processor, with 4GB of system memory and a 128GB solid-state drive (SSD). Price starts at $699,

The backlit keyboard is supported by an internal metal framework for stability, and is liquid resistant against spill. The MatePen has 2,048 levels of pressure sensitivity that is very smooth and precise. It has a built-in laser pointer, and a presentation clicker button. The MateDock features two USB 3.0 ports, Ethernet jack, an HDMI port, a VGA port and pass-through USB-C port for charging the tablet. The dock comes in a case that has a loop to hold the MatePen and storage slots for cables.

The device is powered by a 33.7Wh Lithium Ion battery pack, rechargeable using a supplied USB-C fast-charge power adapter, which is enough for a regular daily usage.

The Huawei MateBook is priced $699 for the tablet only with configurations up to $1,599. The keyboard cover is at $129 and MatePen stylus is $59.

HP Spectre x360

The new HP Spectre x360 is a clamshell laptop that can be folded 360 degrees and transform it into a thick tablet. It has a similar design with Lenovo Yoga. It has all-aluminium chassis and high-end 13-inch screen (2,560x1,440-pixel resolution) diagonal IPS touchscreen display. It is run by a new Intel 6th generation Core i5 and Core i7 processors.

HP boast that it can go up to 12.5 hours of battery life.

The HP Spectre x360 will start at $899.99. .

HP Spectre x2

The all new HP Spectre x2 is like a Surface Pro but cheaper. It also has a built-in kickstand like Microsoft's tablet. The kickstand is adjustable and stable. The keyboard also acts as a cover. The keyboard cover is made of aluminum and the kickstand is U-shaped unlike the flat kickstand panel on the Surface.

The HP Spectre x2 has a 12-inch display 1,920x1,080 resolution, weigh 1.85 pounds (the Surface Pro 4 is at 1.7 pounds). It has USB-C ports. The U-shaped kickstand allows for more battery to fit for longer battery life. The x2 can be use with a pressure-sensitive Wacom-made active pen, which is sold separately.

Under the hood, it is equipped with sixth-gen Core M (Core m3, m5 and m7) processors. You can choose between  4GB or 8GB of RAM, and a solid-state drive with 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of storage.

Price is at $799, and will be available at Best Buy stores starting November 8, 2015.

Asus Transformer Pad TF103

Asus Transformer Pad TF103 is designed to have the mobility of an Android tablet and the function of a small notebook. It is a slick hybrid which has a 10.1-inch display that has a keyboard with a hinge which makes it foldable like a notebook. You can also unhinge the keyboard using a quick release button to transform it into a tablet. It weighs 545 grams and ist 9.9mm thick. Samsung wants get in the "Google Play" market and challenge their dominance by rebranding their app store with "Samsung Galaxy Apps." They have presented last Friday July 11, 2014 their new  Galaxy Apps store, it will be offered to over 130 million users in over 161 countries.

Sony launches 6.4-inch phablet waterproof Xperia Z Ultra phone

Sony has been boasting that the Xperia Z Ultra is the slimmest large-screened handset on the market. The new Sony phablet is bigger than Samsung's Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3. The Z Ultra weighed in at 212g, while the Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 weighs 198g, but its chassis is mostly made of plastic materials, which somehow doesn't quite have the same build quality as the Z Ultra.

As for the thinnest, it is still Huawei's Ascend P6 which is at 6.18mm. Xperia Z is at 6.5mm.

Acer Liquid S1 7-inch Android phablet

Acer has announced the new Android phablet the Liquid S1 at the Computex 2013 in Taipei, Taiwan.

The Acer Liquid S1 will have a powerful 1.5GHz Mediatek quad-core processor and will carry a 7-inch 1280x720 pixels display. The memory will be 1GB of RAM and has a dual-SIM capability.

The OS of Liquid S1 is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. The storage of the phone is 8GB internal memory expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.

It will be powered by a 2,400mAh replaceable battery. It also has a front and back cameras as well.

Acer boast that the phablet has the ability to multitask without having to back out of one app to work on the other task. Float apps such as Notes, Maps, Calculator and Camera are also available.

The Acer Liquid is expected to be released in third quarter of 2013 in Belgium, France, Ukraine, Russia, Germany and UK. The price will start at 349 Euros.
