Lenovo Will Start Shipping Tango AR smartphone system

Lenovo Phab2 Pro, Tango AR smartphone

China based smartphone tech company Lenovo will start shipping the first smartphone that boast Google's Tango technology, after more than two years of tinkering and finishing touches. The innovative technology is only available on Lenovo’s $499 Phab2 Pro, which will be available in stores in the US starting today, but you can expect to see this in a bunch of Android phones in the next year or so.

Google launched 35 Tango apps alongside the launch of Lenovo's new handset. With Tango, a Lenovo phone can "figure out" its position relative to its surroundings through different range of integrated sensors and cameras. This transform the smartphone to a very powerful augmented reality (AR) device, where animations and images are overlaid on the surrounding environment. Tango technology can also recognize images seen through smartphone cameras. This gives the Tango apps the ability to scale depending on a user's surroundings.

Tango offers a more intense gaming experience just like like the game Crayola Color Blaster which show the ability of games to capitalize on larger playing spaces while utilizing the technology’s tracking abilities.

Non-gaming Apps like iStaging gives you a preview in rearranging your furniture at home.
